The iRoad Project

iRoad is a research collaboration between Luleå University of Technology (LTU), Geveko, Eistec and the Swedish Road Administration (Vägverket). The aim of the project is to generate the necessary technologies for intelligent roads, which will lead to safer and more efficient road usage.
The main objective is to make road markings intelligent by integrating sensors, memory, processors and communication devices in the road marking. This will be an enabler of support systems and services for both road users and road maintainers.
